‘A historian’s archive is ever like another’s. Each account of his or her experience within them will always produce counter narratives, […] different kinds of discomfort.’
Amurmur is a multifaceted research and archival endeavour featuring a selection of projects as an investigation and ongoing discussion regarding archival objects, memory and the contrasting relationship between self-celebration and public history.
It draws threads across time, honours fragility and reimagines the object’s final wishes.
Amurmur is an exploration of the unspoken and unrecorded: ‘Those many princesses, possibly beautiful, which are the languishing records awaiting their rescuer.’
